The Body Wisdom Project

An Educational Journey Through The Four Stages of a Woman’s Life

The Body Wisdom Project is a four-part educational program that helps women understand the biology, physiology, and hormonal rhythms of the female body across the lifespan.

Many women move through life without ever being taught how their bodies actually work. The Body Wisdom Project exists to close that gap. Through clear, accessible education, participants learn about cycles, hormones, anatomy, and the major biological transitions that shape a woman’s life.

The Four Stages of Body Wisdom

The program is organized around four archetypal stages - Maiden, Mother, Matriarch, Crone - each representing a distinct phase of a woman’s development through her lifetime.

By understanding these stages, women gain the knowledge needed to care for their bodies, support their health, and move through life with greater confidence and body sovereignty.

Maiden

Understanding the Beginning of the Cycle

The Maiden stage focuses on the biological transition into reproductive life. This phase explores puberty, the onset of menstruation, and the hormonal changes that shape adolescence and early adulthood.

Participants learn the foundations of menstrual cycle literacy, including how hormones influence mood, energy, and physical development. The goal is to replace confusion and stigma with knowledge and understanding so young women can enter adulthood with a clear relationship to their bodies.

Topics may include:

  • puberty and hormonal development

  • understanding the menstrual cycle

  • the science of hormones and mood

  • reproductive anatomy

  • developing a healthy relationship with the body

Mother

The Reproductive Years

The Mother stage focuses on the hormonal rhythms and physiological realities of a woman’s reproductive years. This phase explores how the menstrual cycle influences energy, fertility, metabolism, and emotional wellbeing.

Participants learn how to understand and work with their cycles rather than ignoring or fighting against them. The stage also introduces key knowledge related to fertility awareness, pregnancy, and postpartum changes.

Topics may include:

  • hormonal rhythms across the menstrual cycle

  • fertility awareness and cycle tracking

  • reproductive health and hormonal balance

  • pregnancy and postpartum physiology

  • nourishment and metabolic health

Matriarch

Transition, Power, and Hormonal Change

The Matriarch stage explores the transition into perimenopause and the shifting hormonal landscape of midlife. This phase focuses on understanding the biological changes that occur as the body begins to move out of the reproductive years.

Rather than framing this transition as decline, the Matriarch stage reframes it as a shift into authority, clarity, and leadership. Education during this stage helps women understand the changes occurring in metabolism, energy, sleep, and mood so they can support their health during this important transition.

Topics may include:

  • the biology of perimenopause

  • hormonal changes in midlife

  • metabolism and energy shifts

  • sleep, stress, and endocrine health

  • stepping into leadership and influence

Crone

Menopause & Elder Wisdom

The Crone stage explores menopause and the biological transition into elderhood. This phase focuses on understanding the long-term physiological changes that occur after reproductive cycling ends.

Participants learn about the effects of menopause on the brain, bones, heart, and metabolic health, while also honoring the traditional role of elder women as wisdom keepers within their communities.

This stage emphasizes both biological understanding and the cultural importance of elder leadership and guidance.

Topics may include:

  • the physiology of menopause

  • brain and hormonal changes after menopause

  • bone and cardiovascular health

  • longevity and metabolic wellness

  • the role of elder women in community life

Why the Body Wisdom Project Exists

For generations, knowledge about the female body has been fragmented, medicalized, or simply never taught at all.

The Body Wisdom Project exists to restore a foundational truth: women deserve to understand their own bodies.

By combining biological education with the archetypal stages of life, the program helps women move through each phase with greater awareness, dignity, and self-trust.

Understanding the body is not only a matter of health—it is a pathway to autonomy, confidence, and sovereignty.

How to Participate

The Body Wisdom Project is offered through classes, workshops, and educational gatherings hosted by Rainbow Bridge Church.

Some sessions focus on a single life stage, while others explore the full journey of the female body from maiden to elder. Participants are welcome to join the stage that reflects where they are in life, or attend multiple sessions to deepen their understanding of the full lifecycle.

Programs may be offered as:

  • in-person workshops and learning circles

  • community education events

  • online learning sessions

  • special gatherings for girls, women, and elders

As the program grows, additional courses and educational resources will be added.
